Betty's Bash is back baby! Hopefully you have been keeping up with your paddle strokes, because the competition has been getting faster each year! This time we will be doing an all at once start. Racers will arrive in the park to unload, then paddle out to the train trestles on the main river. The race will start and finish at this point. The race course is approximately 6.2 miles. The race will begin at 9am out on the main river, just above the railroad tracks. Start of the race will be signaled by a megaphone. The race will loop around the island, starting from the tracks, then proceeding down river to the bottom of Germany Island, turning right to head up the Little river. Paddling up the little river to the top of the island, turning right to enter back on to the Savannah River. Continue down the Savannah River to end back at the railroad tracks where we began. We will have safety boats and markers to signify proper directions.
We race in the morning, we enjoy the park by day and we party by night! Bettys Bash is a celebration of Riverside Park and the access we all share to it. The festival is free, the concert is free, the park is open as usual! If you would like to race, you must register and pay. Registration Coming Soon!
