An active camp for young outdoor enthusiasts.
Each camper will have the opportunity to become familiar with kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding.
NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!
Outdoor Augusta Summer camp adventure leaders will provide basic paddling instruction, safety and knowledge of boating. As well, campers will learn about the Savannah River including the habitat and animals that surround our greatest local natural resource!
After morning paddle excursions, campers will have lunch and hammock time at Riverside Park followed by games, crafts and outdoor fun! Campers will also participate in river clean up challenges.
B.Y.O.L (bring your own lunch)
Each camper is responsible for bringing their own lunch. Outdoor Augusta will provide an afternoon snack each day, water coolers for refill, and a pizza party the last day of camp. Personal Flotation Devices will be provided for the campers. Feel free to bring your own if you have one that is especially comfortable for your camper.
This will mark our 5th year doing summer camps and we have learned a lot about providing an excellent time for the campers. We will utilize Riverside Park as our home base for drop off and pick up unless otherwise communicated. We will pattern our camps in a fashion that incorporates several paddle trails for the Serene 18 Paddle Trails as well as the Bombasin Land Trails around Columbia County. We will be taking advantage of our custom bus, for transportation to the other local water ways and trails as well as trips involving designated field trips to the Augusta Canal Authority Museum. For the last few years, Martin Marietta Rock Quarry has partnered with us to help provide unique experiences and when possible we will visit the local quarry for an up close and personal tour! Years of taking adventurous steps into the world of summer camps have led us to a summer that will be absolutely epic!
*Camp days will be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. An adult must be available to pick up camper in the event of cancellation from Betty's Branch/Riverside Park within thirty (30) minute notice.
*Campers must be ages 10 - 14. Special exceptions can be made for younger siblings of a registered camper.
